[Dxbase] VISTA and DXb 2006

False Alarm
I had DXB open which appeared to create a permissions conflict rather than
tell me the database was in use. Typical MS :)
The Host file relocation went OK so I think everything is working under
vista....
And before anyone asks why I went with VISTA I felt by the end of the life
cycle it would be like trying to run under WIN98 on a PC today. I hope I'm
right.
Thanks again everyone

Well I guess I spoke to quickly. I was able to access the VE3SY.MDB
start-up database but having no end of grief with the ANAL permissions in
VISTA that will not allow me to unzip the MDB records into the DXB folder.
I know this is more of a VISTA thread than DXB however I expect others have
been here too.
Any suggestions
Paul

OK Jack - all working now
I was using the 2004 .REG file so I simply exported the Registery entry from
my previous notebook as VE3SY.reg to a shared directory on my new Dell. I
ran the new .REG file and it installed itself in VISTA.
Thanks for suggesting too check the .REG file

Paul,
Are you actually using the correct registration file for DXbase 2006? We
have had reports like yours where the user says they did everything
correctly, got the correct response indicating that the registry was
updated, but still the program stayed in trial mode. In every case, it
turned out that the user was using an old registration file for the wrong
version.
I am assuming you are not using 64bit Vista.
Regards,
Jack
