[Dxbase] MicroKEYER problem

Hello again Chuck,
You and I are both right. Yes there is a solid state PTT and there is an
option to use a relay in the microKEYER. Maybe I should try turning my darn
relay off.
I don't have my radio or computer on at the moment, but again you peaked my
curiosity about DXbase being able to control the PTT timing to the
amplifier. When I was last looking, I was sure that once DXbase was started
the PTT timing with the microHAM internal WinKey was by-passed. First chance
I get I will have a look again - thanks for the heads up on that one Chuck,
good catch.
My darn amp is 'bust' at the moment too so I can not play with the PTT
timing just yet.
Going back to the original query that Eugene first brought up. There is no
QSK option available in DXbase by simply turning off PTT altogether. I am
pretty sure we can all agree on this! If wrong, I owe you a coffee (or
beer).
73 Eric.

Eric,
I could be wrong, but I thought the microKeyer used a solid state switch
(BJT) to key the PTT. (The reason I'm not certain is my amp relay is pretty
loud, and the microKeyer sits next to the amp). I know for a fact that the
WinKey circuit board uses a BJT switch from pin 5 of the WinKey chip to
switch the PTT. I use the PTT to key my amplifier lead-in of 20 msec and a
tail delay of 180 msec (these parameters are setup in DXBase, also in the
microKeyer router software). This prevents "hot switching" of the amp
relay.
