[Dxbase] MicroKEYER problem

Hi Chuck,
I have tried setting pin 5 (and the tone) option. It does allow QSK, but it
DOES NOT turn the PTT circuit off which causes the keyer PTT relay to
chatter along with the CW keying, sort of an annoying sound. Really we only
need an option to turn PTT off, though PTT routing via the microKEYER would
be nice for those of us that use amplifiers too. (I think?)
As much as I like the mouse button CW speed control in DXbase, it really is
not the same as simply reaching up and fine tuning ones speed when sending.
I am sure Eugene and some others will agree with me, especially those who
use contest software that already supports the speed knob.
Many thanks for the hints Chuck,
Eric - VE3GSI.

"But if I have keyer
on when I start DXBase, or I use keyer configuration screen, DXBase
disables the speed knob (which I always use to adjust my speed)"
I believe this is normal operation for the K1EL WinKey contained in the
microKeyer-- the software program takes over the speed control. I very
rarely use the speed pot, as I prefer to use the features in DXBase to
control the keyer speed.
As far as the PTT function goes, you might try changing the setting for "pin
5" of the WinKey (Tools, Options, CW options, WinKey options, pin 5 config).
