Hi All, Jack, Courtney,
I've encountered an error, I think, with the
DXBase 2004 Band_plan/mode function. I cannot
turn off "Over ride mode with Band Plan" in the
"Tools/Options/User_options/Log_Defaults" menu. I
do have the "Over ride mode with Band Plan" box
unchecked. It appears the programs is not working
properly.
I discovered this while I was entering old logs
and I want to set the frequency and mode myself.
I did find a rather drastic work-around. I saved
a copy of my current (modified) band plan by
saving the "refdata.dbm" file. Launched DXBase
and removed the entire band plan.
What I really find disturbing is that data for
QSOs that are already input and saved can be
changed if you enter other data. At one point I
was just updating frequencies which I left out on
from past QSOs. I had no idea that I was also
changing mode. I think there really needs to be a
"Log Edit" mode that only changes or inputs what
you intend to change or input! I would think this
would be a very import feature to new users.
Or was this some kind of pilot error.
