[Dxbase] The VALID column

Having a problem with the VALID column. QSOs were imported from Dxbase 2000 into DXbase 2005. Some of the qsos PRIOR TO 1975 are highlighted in RED and the MODE box is unchecked, indicating that this qso is not valid for dxcc band or mode award (A DXCC Award Rule). However . . . . there are other qsos also dated before 1975 that are not highlighted in red and both the mixed and mode boxes are checked undert the VALID column. Running INITIALIZE TABLES does not correct this discrepency.

What's up? How can this be fixed or is there something I don't understand?
