[Dxbase] DXCC award submission problem

I'm getting ready for this year's DXCC submission. Something very odd is
occurring that I don't know how to solve.

My existing DXCC award is Phone only (not mixed), and I have individual
band-awards for 10, 15 and 20. My submission will be for a new award for
40, stickers for 15 and 20 and overall-phone. Here's the problem. DX Base
doesn't seem to realize that band awards are NOT mode specific. If I have
the PHONE, 10, 15, 20, 40 and 80 boxes checked, the program ignores the
CW-only contacts I have with entities on 40 and 80 metres. It seems to be
looking for PHONE *and* 40, not PHONE *or* 40.

Anything I have on CW is not going towards a mixed award (or a CW award),
but rather just to build up my individual band-totals. At the same time,
however, I need to ensure every new entity that I have worked and confirmed
since my last submission is selected for the phone-only award.

Is there a workaround for this? Am I mis-understanding the selection
process -- or the award parameters, perhaps?

Thanks.
