Hi Brad,
I'm sorry about your problems.
The default location for your log is in the dx4w###\SAVE directory.
The files with ~ in the file extension are backups of those files
(from the previous save). You should read this application note:

Also "save2" can be used as a "duplicate" backup location, see the QSO
tab of your preferences.
You should be running daily backups of your important data files.
That's also mentioned in the application note.
