Ken, 

These are the settings I have for my 775DSP.  I'll show your settings then mine:

Type: 	ICOM 775				ICOM 775
Address: 46					46 (the Default box under this field is checked)
Baud Rate: 1200 				9600
Notes for radio: Also 756; selects narrow filters 	Also 756; selects narrow filters
Com Port: COM5				COM5
Poll Rate (ms): 5000				5000
Max tries: 6					6
DTR High: Checked				Checked
Transverter Offset (KHz): 0			0
RTS High: Unchecked				Checked
Band: All bands					All bands

I don't own a 775 (even I would like to have one hi hi). Please see the manual page 48.

I think it is menu 15,16,17,18. Put the in default except baud rate (it is by default auto, put it in 1200). Please see also if in menu 15 address is 46H.
