[Dx4win] Change?

Bob and fellow DX4WINers!

Like yourself, I am looking elsewhere and running parallel logging/ 
awards programs....DX Labs, HRD and Logger32. Each has it own benefits 
and drawbacks, some with a steep learning curve but almost all have 
active user support.

Of the above, I have found Logger32 to stand above the rest in terms of 
flexibility and stability. There are many neat features:

1. Easy LOTW up/download. No more singing onto LOTW and entering 
passwords/ usernames,
2. Integrated MMTTY and 2Tone, MMVARI, PSK31
3. Graphic rig control and spectrum scope,
4. Graphic rotor control for multiple rotor/ antenna combinations,
5. QRZ/ Hamcall look-up,
6. CW keyer with macros, etc.
7. Cluster connect automatic at boot up
8. Digital Voice Keyer....
9. Grid Square calculator.
10. NCDXF Beacons
11. HAMCAP integration

In short, many of the features DX4WIN users have been asking for many 
times over....are already in Logger32 (and DXLab and HRD)

Feature requests are actually listened to and worked on and incorporated.

Its shortfalls, yes there are a few, are the "apps" which need to be 
added on for simple things like QSL/ label printing, LOTW 
synchronization, viewing reports. These apps are written by third 
parties and, for the most part, work as advertised.

DX4WIN is a winner in the report generator aspect; the report generator 
is far superior to anything I have seen to date...hands down winner. 
Many of Logger32 reports are EXCEL spreadsheets and need to be massaged 
to obtain a meaningful report.

Having been one of the early adopters of DX4WIN (I still think I have my 
original floppy disc!), I have grown tired of the Windows 3.1 look of 
DX4WIN and its lack of incorporating requested features. DX4WIN is in 
dire need of updating, but it is one of the better logging/ award 
tracking/ report generating programs. Additionally, Jim's AD1C support 
has been outstanding and keeps this old boat afloat!

That's my feedback thus far...My desire is to remain with DX4WIN but the 
more I learn about the capabilities of these other programs (and the 
proactive author support provided),the further I lean to leaving.
