Using DX4WIN ver. 8.03.
I entered the ARRL DX CW contest last weekend using N1MM as my contest
logger. After the contest I used N1MM to produce a Cabrillo and ADIF
download file. I then used Jim's, AD1C, ADIF to DX4WIN DXQ conversion
program dated 31 January 2010 to make a DXQ file to upload to DX4WIN. I used
the DXWIN8 input in the IMPORT/EXPORT filter window to import the DXQ file.
All went well, all 450 of my contest Q's imported to DX4WIN FB, populating
the Recvd window with the power the DX station sent me as it should be (If
you import the N1MM ADIF file without converting it to the DXQ file the
Recvd window will NOT be populated with the power, I tried that first).
The problem is the NOTES FOR THIS QSO window was populated with strange info
from the ADIF file. For example, I worked ZM1A on 2/20/2010 @ 1151 CW on
7MHz. He sent me 599500. This is what appears in my NOTES FOR THIS QSO
window:
Import:{Frequency=-- --- Satel Mode=NNNNNNNN Satel Name=--- N WAS Mixed
award= WAS Mode award= WAZ Band award= WAZ Mixed award= WAZ Mode award=
WPX Band award= WPX Mixed award= WPX Mode award= }
I don't know what all this means but it should not be in my NOTES FOR THIS
QSO window. Is there an easy way to delete this garbage from the window or
must I manually delete it one QSO at a time for all 450 Q's?
Also the SAT NAME and SAT MODE windows were populated with the word OTHER. I
don't think this should had happened either but I don't work Satellites so
will just ignore it.
I realize this may not be a DX4WIN issue but might be the result of the ADIF
file produced by N1MM so here is the corresponding ADIF file for ZM1A from
N1MM:
<CALL:4>ZM1A <QSO_DATE:8>20100220 <TIME_ON:6>115102 <BAND:3>40M
<FREQ:7>7.00000 <CONTEST_ID:10>ARRL-DX-CW <FREQ_RX:7>7.00000 <MODE:2>CW
<RST_RCVD:3>599 <RST_SENT:3>599 <RX_PWR:3>500 <OPERATOR:5>K7ACZ <CQZ:2>32
<STX:2>85 <APP_N1MM_POINTS:1>3 <APP_N1MM_RADIO_NR:1>1 <APP_N1MM_RUN1RUN2:1>1
<EOR>
I notice in that file it shows RST_SENT:3>599. There is no indication that I
sent 599 NV as my exchange. I guess that doesn't really matter because it
does show NV in the Cabrillo file where it matters. Example:
QSO: 7000 CW 2010-02-20 1151 K7ACZ 599 NV ZM1A 599 500
Here is the line from the DXQ file for ZM1A:
20100220115102ZM1A 40CW 599599500 N BN
118 NN NN -- ------
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN N
(I left the spacing as it is in the actual line of data for ZM1A)
I don't know what all those extra N's are for, it's over my head, but maybe
that's the problem?
ZM1A: Sorry to pick on you. I have been sitting here manually deleting the
garbage in the NOTES FOR THIS QSO window for a whole bunch of Q's already
and stopped at your Q thinking there must be an easier way as it is time
consuming to delete this window one Q at a time.
Just for info there is no connection between my rig and the PC. I S&P and
tune by hand and log manually so the logging program could not have gotten
any non kosher data from the rig.
