[Dx4win] DX4WIN Version 8 Preview

Hi Everyone,

I too would like to see a better interface to the cluster.  However,
Paul still has to get some of the previously-existing functionality
working again (like Mark for QSL), as well as the DOCUMENTATION (help
files, etc.), whereas the DX Spots interface is currently working.  I
believe this is something he could choose to do after Version 8 is
released, since it won't affect the logbook format or other program
functionality.

Some of the cluster nodes allow you to create a login script that can
issue a SH/DX command when you first log in.  In fact, I first connect
DX4WIN to the VE7CC program, then connect the VE7CC program to the
node.  When VE7CC connects to the node, it grabs the last 100 spots,
which are then fed automatically to DX4WIN.

Clearing old spots is a one-mouse-button operation.  *Perhaps* (maybe)
Paul could add a Packet preference to always clear the old spots when
starting the program (or clear spots more than #n minutes old).  There
is NO issue with "Clear all spots" that are older than 24 hours.
There is also an option to just delete spots that are more than 120
minutes (2 hours) old.

As I said on the web page, the more things people ask for NOW, the
longer it will take to get the new version released. There will
inevitably be problems to fix once the program is release.  When
things have settled down, then he might consider new features.
