[Dx4win] Mark for QSL - proposed change

Hi Folks,
I would like to suggest to Paul a usability enhancement for the "Mark
for QSL" function in the Labels menu. This function allows DX4WIN to
automatically set the QSL label flag(s) for QSOs that would result in
new award counters, i.e. new WPX on CW or new DXCC on 17m.
The problem is that "Mark for QSL" always operates on the entire log,
although you can set "Only QSOs after" to a starting date, i.e. only
mark QSOs that I worked this year.
It seems to me that using an F8 logbook search could accomplish the
same thing (i.e. F8 search and enter the starting [and ending]
date(s)) and "Mark for QSL" would ask if you want to use the current
filter. Then F8 could be used for all sorts of things, i.e. search
for new WPX starting MM/DD/YYYY only in your home country, and "Mark
for QSL" by setting the QSL Method to "Direct", then search for new
WPX starting MM/DD/YYYY outside your home country, and "Mark for QSL"
by setting the QSL Method to "Bureau".
Does anyone think this proposed change (removing the starting date
from Mark for Label, but instead allowing the user to set up an F8
search beforehand) will result in a loss of functionality?
DISCLAIMER: I don't know if Paul can implement this, or how
complicated it is. I *do* know that the "Mark for QSL" function is
not yet working in the new version of DX4WIN.
Thanks & 73 - Jim AD1C
