Hi Jim and all
Unfortunately no way to get a "real" FJ call for the trip, as FJs are
only for residents.
Just for info, the is a legal vacuum for this case in the French laws
related to FJ and FS s for special prefix to be used (TO or TX). The
administration decided that, untill further notice, the prefix is TO.
It might (repeat, might) change in the future !
They are a new "kind" of "territory" called "collectivité d'outremer"
which could translate as "overseas collectivity".
All other overseas parts of France have a different status :overseas
departments (FG, FM, FY and FR), overseas territories (FK and FO),
territorial collectivities (FH), state territory (FO0X). FP is something
else, the FR islands (FR/J /G and /T), the FT's are again something
different. I do not even know what is the status of FW !
French administration at its best !
My suitcases are almost ready, I am leaving my home town on Saturday at
around 16h00 GMT, and will step foot on FJ at around 00h30GMT on Monday.
It will take us some time to settle down and set up the stations, so
that gives you plenty of time to set up DX4Win !
I thought the DX4Win users deserved a bit of details about this FJ
expedition...
Logging will not be done under DX4Win, but QSLing certainly will !
See you all from there, and remember : TO5FJ = FJ !
