[Dx4win] Grid format question in packet comment fields

Hi Paul,
         The stuff like "(ES>"  (which I've more often seen as 
"<ES>") refers to the method of propagation, in this case Sporadic E, 
which is commonly referred to as Es (but converted to upper case 
shows up as ES). Also common are MS (meteor), TR (tropospheric 
ducting) and TE (Transequatorial). I'm thinking that what might be 
happening is that <> is being "translated" into (> for some reason, 
possibly due to some kind of gateway conversion. If there's nothing 
between the two (which is pretty common), that just means that the 
(optional) propagation method wasn't "filled in"). It seems like 
using the propagation mode is most common for 6m, though I think I've 
seen it to 10m as well.

         You're also correct about the format of " 'DX grid here' > 
'hearing him here' " though some folks occasionally flip-flop it 
since it's usually entered by hand.

         Hope this helps, and let me know if you need a tester, as I 
try to be reasonably active on 6m where this stuff seems to be used most often.
