Hi John,
There's a hard way and an easy way. Both involve copying the logbook, then
deleting the QSOs with the "other" call.
The easy way:
Assuming you can separate the QSOs by date, copy your <oldcall>.DXL file to
<newcall>.DXL.
Next, create a filter selection (by date) in the "old" logbook that selects
only QSOs with the "new" call. Using that selection, QSO -> Multiple QSO
operations -> Delete QSOs (to delete all QSOs with the "new" call). Then you
will be left with a log that contains only QSOs with the "old" call. Save this
file.
Now open the "new" logbook and do the same thing, except create a filter
selection (by date) that selects only QSOs with the "old" call. Using that
selection, QSO -> Multiple QSO operations -> Delete QSOs (to delete all QSOs
with the "old" call). Then you will be left with a log that contains only QSOs
with the "new" call. Save this file.
The hard way:
If the QSOs can't be easily separated by date, you will have to assign a unique
group number to QSOs with the "new" call. This is a time-consuming manual
procedure, and is error prone. You can use date filters and QSO -> Multiple
QSO Operations -> Set Group Number to do it in bunches.
Once you're done, use F8 to select only QSOs with the special group number.
Now File -> Export and select DX4WIN6 format. Export your log. When prompted
to use the existing filter selection, answer Yes.
Now use QSO -> Multiple QSO Operations -> Delete QSOs to remove those QSOs from
the log. When prompted to use the existing filter selection, answer Yes. Save
this as "old".DXL. Also save the same file as "new".DXL.
File -> Open and select "new".DXL. Using multiple QSO operations, delete ALL
the QSOs from this log. The File -> Import/Export, select DX4WIN6 format, and
import the file you exported earlier. Save this logbook as "new".DXL
Note that I have not actually tried this, and I could have some of the steps
wrong. Just start by saving your ORIGINAL log in a SAFE place, you can always
go back to it.
