When your ADIF file gets written from DX4WIN you have to make some edits to it.
Here is an example record that "works":

  DX4WIN ADIF Export V1.0 <eoh>
  <qso_date:8:d>20001121 <time_on:6>125000 <call:5>PY2TR <dxcc:3>108 <mode:2>CW
  <band:4>70cm <rst_sent:3>559 <rst_rcvd:3>449 <cqz:2>11 <gridsquare:4>GG66
  <qsl_rcvd:1>Y <comment:19>10320/1st AO-10 QSO <PROP_MODE:3>SAT <SAT_MODE:1>B <SAT_NAME:5>AO-10<eor>

  The key fields are:
band should be the uplink band
  prop_mode is SAT
sat_mode is A, B, J, US, UL, etc. (for the compound mode nomenclature, it has to say <SAT_MODE:2> first)
And the sat_name has to EXACTLY match the magic list in LOTW...I think the list is in the LOTW FAQ on the ARRL web site...the ones I know work are
  AO-10
  AO-40
  AO-51
  SO-49
  SO-50
  FO-20
  FO-29
  RS-12
  RS-13

Don't recall if AO-7 is "AO-7" or "AO-07". Also note that RS-12/13 has to be logged separately <sigh>
