[Dx4win] AR vs. CLX

Additional playing around had provided the following information.

Normal DX4WIN spot pattern recognition (see Preferences|Packet2) is-

DX|DE|r:|f|c|q|tZ

Using this pattern, spots emanating from Arizona will NOT be listed in the
spot window when connected to an AR Cluster node. Only AZ spots are so
affected (apparently). I have no idea as to why it only affects AZ spots.

This can be patched by adding a | to the end of the pattern, i.e.,

DX|DE|r:|f|c|q|tZ|

Now this is all well and good BUT. If you connect to a CLX node, no spots
will appear in the Spot window UNLESS the REMARKS field is empty!!!

Weird! and getting weirder.

So, it seems that-

one can forget about spots from Arizona and keep the pattern alone (if
connected to an AR cluster) OR-

one can alter the recognition pattern by adding a | at the end and be ok in
an AR node, OR-

one can use the | at the end of the pattern and when connecting to a CLX
node, only spot those with an empty remarks field.

Verrrrrry in ter est ing!

ain't science grand?
