Whilst speaking to a friend on 14.198.9 the other day, a station using the callsign VE3OGZ started to call "CQ"... as my antenna was to the west...( 8 element LP at 60 feet) and I was running full legal power, plus or minus a watt or two I KNOW the guy could hear me... unless he is totally deaf...in which case I wonder how he operates...
The same guy has also come within a few cycles of me when I have been operating my 7Q call and working people in the States... I asked him if he had a problem the other day as I had been on frequency for more than 20 minutes before he started to call CQ.... his reply was that the frequency was in use and I should go away.... with a little language that is NOT appropriate to this mail...its not the first time I have heard this voice operating this call sign.... I only hope its a pirate... but he gives his name as "JOHN" and he is from Ontario..... I have spoken to a Very dear friend of ours in Pickering... Don, VA3DON, he says the guy is well known for his shocking abuse of the radio,.... so how come he is allowed to continue, he has the Brains of a LOUSE ( for those that don't know what a louse is..its a small flea,) and the sense of a Blackpool Donkey...If the Canadian operators can't stop this guy from operating as he does, I'll have a word with a few of my IT9 Pals....and see what they suggest... he should NOT be allowed to abuse the privileges that we try to enjoy... it is NOT a language barrier that prevents him understanding that the frequency is already busy BEFORE he calls....apart from his Asian dialect, his English is NEARLY as good as mine...he shows absolutely no consideration for any other ham....and he needs either a little education on how to operate or removing off the bands.... the lads on 27 Megs would soon put him straight... that's for sure...Regards to all... hope we can cure this before it spreads ...Allan G0IAS /7Q7AH ... and others.
