[DX] SA-Ø42 DXPedition canceled.

Dear DX community,

I'm sad announcing that ours SA-Ø42 DXpedition planned to March, 27 '02
is canceled. This final decision was taken after high anxiety from other
group of PYs (PT2GTI and PT7BI) and CTs (CT1AHU and CT1EEN) that is
planning to get there sometime after our effort. I guess they were afraid
to lose the title "all time new one rare IOTA group".

They begged us to cancel our plans and get together in just one team. It
could be possible, once we aline ours different targets. For short: we are
planning a DXpedition into a contest, and they want tourism into backstage
a DXpedition.

Since we are contesters and freelance DXpeditionaries, we'd like to joint a
DXpedition to rare IOTA into a contest effort (WPX SSB) and get the best of
both worlds. They want be there in a big resort and be while on the radio.
No problem, if all group agreed. 

After some e-mails we decide to discuss how merge the objectives. We have
started a discussion to jointing ours objectives, and the famous group was
immovable and intransigent considering our expectances. We asked to move to
a contest period, they said no. We proposed a band plan and operator
schedule with a full time scale for all operators, they said "to hard". To
avoid more problems and keeping the ham radio good will, we are canceling
our effort. 

There are many rare island, many contest to joint, but friendship is more
important to us. There is no room to fight, it's peace time. 

We wish good lock Mr. PT2GTI and his gang in one more DXPedition.
