[DX] DXing and DX nets

I would like to weigh in on this one with a point I haven't seen discussed
yet. Like many are saying here, I want to make sure the information I give
and receive to make a legitimate contact is done strictly between me and the
DX station with no help. However, this aside, I have worked a few DX
contacts on the Bill Bennett Family Hour on 20 meters. In no case has
anyone on frequency relayed a signal report and, in fact, I myself have
experienced unsuccessful qso's where the path just isn't good enough and
have been invited to come back another day.

One of the main reasons I use this net is for timing purposes. I work 40
hours a week and don't have a lot of time to spend tuning the bands between
work and family obligations. Thus, if I have an idea that an XU station
just might be on the Family Hour frequency on Saturday morning, I'll give
him a shot there. He still has to hear me and I have to hear him to make a
two way qso.

I also might remark that sometimes you actually get a chance to exchange a
little more than RS and location on these frequencies and that too is an
important part of the DXing hobby. In fact, this is as much fun for me as
getting that rare one.

thanks to all for reading this. 73
