Folks,
I hope we can put this to rest. A bit of background on the IRCS I have. First, I have several hundred. Unlike the managers that get them with QSL requests, many I have were purchased by myself at many post offices around the world. I bought these for two reasons, the need for IRCs in the ham community stranded by the USPS decision to discontinue them as well as a number of clients that I have established over the years that need the IRCS for non-ham needs. These folks were strictly dependent on the USPS till they found me, and have been stranded by the USPS since early 2013.
My cost for these IRCS are somewhat over $2.00, after you consider foreign transaction costs, etc. Not to mention that one has to stand in line for some time to get these things chopped correctly. Some have been purchased for less, but some have been purchased from other QSL managers to keep a supply on hand. If a US QSL manager wants to sell me their 2017 IRCs, let me know. I think you'll like the deal.
We've gone over what I use the 'profits' for (I use this term loosely). I do one other thing beyond the 'normal QSL manager expenses', and that is to donate it to support one of the foundations that bring us all the rarest of DX.
As some have noted, there are several ways to get IRCS, although they're drying up a bit in the last year. You can also reach out to Bill Plum, James Mackey, etc for stamps. You can use greenstamps, the various OQRS services, etc as well. If you like what I do with the 'profits' (again, term used quite loosely), you can buy IRCs from me.
My last comments on this subject!
73 es Happy New Year
