[Dx-qsl] IRC Redemption

Only correction I'd make, just having dumped nearly 2000 of these suckers, is they're worth one 'forever' stamp, or $1.10, not $1.05.   But, having the terminal instructions noted below is key.   Avoids a lot of time.....

Good luck

Tom et al,

FWIW we've had a similar discussion recently on the YCCC Reflector.
Here are some other tips from Les, N1SV (one of our members).  I can say
personally that the same fellow that helped him (at the Carlisle, MA PO)
was able to process my IRCs in under 2 minutes and I was on my way.

"Apparently just telling them to open their handbook to section 11-6.6
and follow the directions doesn't always work.  Here are the steps my
teller used:

1. From the terminal select "stamps" then "Exchange" and then "Foreign
IRC".

2. The Foreign IRCs I had were the older "Nairobi" model that expires
December 31, 2013.  Mine were redeemable for $1.05.  The teller enters
the total value ($1.05 x qty).

3. The teller scans the barcode of the overseas US stamp you are
purchasing and enters the qty to be purchased. Then you pay the
difference"   (which at the moment is $0.05 for a $1.10 stamp)
