[Dx-qsl] IRC Saga

Well, I went back this morning with the sheet Dick, K7VC, sent me. For
brief background, there are four windows which I'll label, as you're
looking at them left to right,1-4 (there's a reason I'm doing this). I
recognized the clerks at windows 1-2 as having been there awhile. Clerk 3
(new) was the guy who told me IRCs were discontinued and Clerk 4 (new) was
the same one who "confirmed" Clerk 3's belief about discontinued IRCs.

Clerk 2 waited on me. I showed clerk 2 the paper and told him someone on
Thursday told me IRCs were being discontinued, but clearly they're not (I
didn't tell him who told me). So he looked at the sheet, then looked in
his drawer for IRCs. He asked me how many I needed. I said "how many do
you have?". He had none at his window. He went down to clerk 4. She had
none. Over to clerk 3. He had five. Keep in mind that clerk 3 is the
same person I went to on Thursday. He said "I didn't know they were in
there". OK, I guess, maybe, sure. Clerk 2 then asked clerk 1, who didn't
even look in his drawer and shook his head no. I'll give him a pass,
though, because he's been there awhile and I've found him to be a straight
shooter.

So there you have it. I now have five IRCs, courtesy of the stamp drawer
of the guy who told me they were being discontinued. I left the sheet with
Clerk 2, but I'm sure it will find its way to the circular file by day's
end. Anyway, thanks to all for the assistance.
