TZ6DEL: SASE via EA4URE, sent March 14th.
Nothing via LoTW in the last 4 days.
Having reached 1500 in the challenge, and with new awards for RTTY
and 12m, I decided to fly up to Newington yesterday to get my cards
done in person.
I rented a C-172 from my local FBO at CDW, and 1.1 hours on the Hobbs
later, I was on the ramp at HFD (Hartford-Brainerd). I took a cab to
HQ (about $20) and got everything done while-I-waited. Great thanks
to Bill Moore for his hospitailty! I also took the occasion to pick
up the book on Danny Weil and YASME and a couple of wire antenna
books as well, plus said a quick hello to Norm Fusaro just before I
had to leave. 1.2 Hours of hazy-skies later, I was back on the ramp
at CDW with my two new certificates, 3 pins, a plate for my 5B award
and various and sundry endorsement stickers for my other certificates.
NOT the cheapest way to get one's cards checked, but a heck of a lot
more fun than putting them in a box and sending them off Registered
Mail via the post, that's for sure!
Cheers,
Peter,
