I have mentioned this to Bill NC1L before. I wish they would have a web
page with operations/dates that DON'T count. Then when the call
disappears or is out of the date range given, we would know it can be
submitted for credit. This should be less work than answering a number of
emails each week asking does XX1XXX count yet?
Bill still isn't convinced that this is worth the work. I would be glad
to do something like this if we could get the info from the DXCC desk. If
someone outside does this of course it isn't "official", but we ought to
be able to reduce the questions asked here and asked to the DXCC desk by
email and mail. It also ought to reduce the number of "non-counting"
cards that they process significantly. Maybe it isn't as big a problem as
I think, but a lot of questions are asked here and I know how many emails
I have written.
Any other comments? Maybe some operations will not find as many takers if
the DX gang knows that the operator isn't a counter! Still some of us
would work these just for the fun of it, count or no count. I generally
don't compete with the gang unless I need the counter. I hope that more
young guns get their counter!
