Very good point......both in terms of family time, enjoying ham radio yourself, and the balance between your personal life, your hobby life, and your work life.  I had a guy once locally ask me how much money i made doing QSL cards....and I chuckled.  I told him that my consulting business payed nicely, gave him an 'hourly figure'....and then told him what my QSL business paid me, gave him an hourly figure.  Problem with the QSL figure, it had a negative sign in front....
