Personally, I think that turn about would be fair play.    If he wont 
confirm contacts with stations, then if that fact is discovered
(as you have discovered it) then I would be very slow returning to him, 
or not at all, until he changed his ways.   You could even drop him a 
note explaining that fact of life.  Maybe make him an offer ...  you 
will send to him after he has sent to you the cards you are looking for.
