My earlier posting about a discrepancy found in LOTW turns out to be a
lesson on how the system works. A QSO which I have a card for and that
wasn't matched up by LOTW was off by exactly one hour between my log
entry and his. I have learned that the leeway allowed by LOTW is +/- 30
minutes which put me outside their window for calling it a match.
Fortunately the QSL manager (bless his heart) felt it was a valid contact
when he received my card and sent his card to me confirming the contact.
Hard to tell who made the log time entry error, but these things happen.
Now the Zulu time entries in my logbook are controlled by my computer
clock and logging program, so if it happens again I know who to blame. So
LOTW was doing its job within the tolerances that it is working to.
