Bob,

I believe Snake Island is shown on most maps using a Russian name, 
O.Zmeinyy. (Correct me linguists if I'm wrong). It's about 50 miles 
due east of the Black Sea boundary between Romania and Moldova, but 
if memory serves correctly it's  administratively part of the Ukraine.
