I don't question the horror stories about trashed mail, but I've got 
to defend the poor old USPO. The PROPORTION of mail (QSL cards and 
everything else) which gets successfully delivered must be 
phenomenally high.

I keep track of the modest number of cards I chase pretty closely, by 
e-mail to operators, managers and reflectors like this. I can't 
recall one important card which was definitely sent to me, but didn't 
arrive. And it's been a long, long time since any of my mail got 
lost. Three cheers for the USPO!

(By the way I don't work for them!).
