I have found generally, that most of My received cards have the month
written in and I always do likewise, although I do Have DD MM YY on My
Cards.. As We in VK write in the Queen's English (British) that is... 9th
March 2003.... as the date HAS to Start with the DAY.... 9th MONTH then
YEAR.... if Not why not YY MM DD.... ??
Just My opinion.... Usually US QSLs Do Not have the month Written...
always Numbers!! and always confusing to the computer....

Gary, I find this often...many European envelopes I get do not have the
country
It's the same thing with many direct US requests I get.
That's why I always check the envelope before put it
in the mailbox. In fact the last one I received was last friday... However
more strange than that is a card without callsign! Yes, you got it right. I
just got a card via buro without callsign on it It's one of those generic
Italian QSL cards, and obviously
the operator forgot to fill the area reserved for call info
(hand write or stamp, usually).
Normally this was simple to track after checking the date/time. But not
this case. The QSO was done during ARRL 10m test and I loogged several
italian stations on same minute... I guess I'll never be able to reply to
this one.
Speaking of wrong info on cards, it's very usually to see reversed
day/month on US card (obviously because different standards).
It was much simple if stations used month word abreviation (Jan, Feb,etc)
or roman number (I, IV, etc.). Just an opinion
Have a nice sunday
