I sent 550 cards to the ARRL last week, registered, and they arrived
with no issue. I have the return receipt. Registered (not Certified)
mail is pretty safe because it establishes a chain of custody. State,
local and federal law enforcement agencies send evidence via registered
mail so you can assume it works most of the time. The postal service
has a system that makes it pretty easy to identify an employee who might
attempt to steal or pilfer registered mail. Of course, that is not to
say that someone couldn't break into the secure area where these
packages are kept or the building won't burn down, truck catch on fire
or the plane crash.

I ran into the same problem you did.....Most of my cards were before
1990. I was ready for the ARRL representative at the Memphis Ham Fest
but he cancelled at the last minute. I couldn't stand looking at all
those cards that I spent weeks organizing, etc. so I hustled them off to
the post office.

Did it make me nervous????????? A little!
