[Dx-qsl] IARU-member society in Colombia to be dissolved.

200 members? Hmmmm we had about 20 or 25 at the most in Hong Kong. We had
enough money to just rent a PO box, and monthly during HARTS meetings we
sorted thru and took our cards. I had a manager, so didn't get many cards,
but a few did come thru that way. Everyone sent their own cards out, either
direct by a supplied SASE or just stuck a stamp on the card itself. With
that small number, you would think that a couple of them still could act as
buro, at least for inbound cards, but then what would they do for postage
outbound. OH Well. Its truly bad news, and I would guess that might happen
again to several other countries.
Fred, does this mean, since there is to no longer be a HK organization,
there will no longer be an IARU member from Colombia? Is that a vote lost
from S. America when the ITU meets to determine frequency assignments/line
ups? Wonder how long they have been in existence? Who will speak for the
amateurs there now?
I guess that we would need a couple of hundred new QSL manager/operator
agreements in order to get cards in and out more easily (and cheaper).
