I strongly recommend putting your return address on the envelope...as it gives you two chances to get the card...HI. I've stopped as the envelope comes back to me, and the reason I usually get it back is that the stamp is 'funny' or a problem. When I get them back with the 'to address' missing, almost every time it's in a plastic envelope with bits and pieces of the envelope....and RARELY the QSL card...HI.
Just as an aside, I've issued one card (XX9X) with my return address printed on the actual QSL card. Over the years, I've gotten perhaps 100 of these back, in the mail, as the envelope gets trashed, and the address on the card prompts the card to be returned to me. Just an interesting 'study' in the postal system...my guess is it's either a very flimsy envelope....often associated with VERY LIGHT WEIGHT foreign return envelopes, or a oversized or folded #10 envelope, typical of US return envelopes.
