And, frankly, given the QSL practices of some folks nowadays, while the bureau is in fact economical.....it is extremely inefficient for QSL managers. I get three 'varieties' of QSLs from the bureau, and while I answer them, they're not anywhere near the top of my priority list...thus....don't be in a hurry if using the bureau for a card from me.
I get the following :
-Cards for which I have already replied ...usually direct (approximately 20-30 percent of the cards)
-Cards for stations which have already been confirmed band/mode (usually a different QSO)...usually a contest station I manage (approximately 30-40%)
-The rest......appear to be 'valid' bureau requests...which appear to be a new band/mode for the requestor.
Thus...you can see the frustration....a lot of work, and a lot of cost to the manager.......for which much less than 50% appear to be a 'real need' QSL
