[Dx-qsl] QSL RULES

As a QSL Manager here are my particular doos and donts.

1)Never put cards for more than ONE call in the same envelope

(This does of course not apply to QSL services) There a\re many
occasions where i
am awaiting cards from the printer for a particular call and this
holds up the whole envelope - and I get
annoyed to receive abusive or annoying e-mails demanding return of
envelopes.)

2) ALWAYS supply a proper SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE. Sometimes your
writing is hard to read and
I cannote be blamed for not addressing an envelope properly. Some
Countries have different conventions
for writing addresses and some of them are not familiar to me.

3) ALWAYS use a lightweight air mail envelope for cards in both
directions.

(Its amazing the different envelopes in use, some are soo thick -
just to mail the empty envelope costs an IRC.
Oh - and if YOUR card does NOT fit in YOUR return envelope - how the
heck is mine supposed to?????
I have no compunction about folding cards if YOUR envelope is too
small - thats YOUR problem!)

4) Ensure you have included sufficient return postage for your reply.
$1 or 1 IRC is normally OK from the UK
for ONE cards, but dont expect to stuff your envelope with cards and
send 1 IRC!

5) Never use call signs on envelopes front - back or any other place they
can be seen even by holding up to the light.
UK postal services are pretty well OK - I have had open envelopes
with dollar bills inside but i guess you
cant say that for a lot of Countries.

6) PLEASE DONT FILL YOUR ENVELOPES WITH BUMPH - MAPS - POSTCARDS - INFO
SHEETS -
PAPER FOLDINGS ETC. I am only a manager - your personal QSO was
not with me. All this tuff
       goes directly into the bin.

7) Please PRINT QSO details neatly so they are legible. Any cards I
cant deal with right away get chucked in the "sin
bin" and I only look in there from time to time when I am in a
good mood.

I deal with one card at a time - opening the envelope and entering the QSO
information into BV Version 7 by DF3CB thereafter I discard the outer
envelope and any bumph place the incoming card into the outgoing envelope
and file them
vertically in a box till the labels are printed. I have never yet
seperated a card from an envelope (maybe I have been lucky) so I dont really
care if you write any information on the envelope - personally I dont have
time to read it.

I manage around 25 calls at the moment and do the best I can - with direct
cards returning them the same week they are received.

Buro cards I do when I can and normally send 250 or so to the buro each
week. Buro cards with problems again get
stuck in the sin bin

I hate cards with floral script call signs which I have to try and guess the
call.

PLEASE when sending cards put your self at the receiving end and ask
yourself - " have I made the manager's job as easy as possible? or could
I have done something different" Its just a matter of common sense.

Help yourself by helping ME!
