Here are some statistics I gathered over the past 20+ years of active 
QSL bureau managemnet:

1. Suppose you send all cards in the log via the bureau  as soon as 
   you log them.

2. You receive 35-55% back over the preriod of 4-5 years. It heavily
   depends how much you work in contests. The more you participate the
   less responses you receive.

3. Fast bureau cards return after 10-15 months in average.

4. Typically bureau cards responses come between 18 and 30 months after
   being sent.

5. In period between 30 and 48 months you receive less than 5%
   responses.

6. After 5 years you will receive less than 1% cards .


I wander if anyone has different statistics.
