I live in Texas. I can send a letter to Oklahoma, Alaska, American
Samoa, Guam, or Florida and it will cost 37 cents. They are all seen by
the post as domestic mail, even those that YOU don't view as being
American! In France, the overseas departments use regular French
postage, register cars using the French numbering system by department,
and in all repects view Reunion, Guadeloupe, Mayotte and Martinique as
if they were physically next to Pas de Calais. The postal code 97xxx
tells the French post that it is Reunion, (75xxx is Paris) so relax,
send the card to France and rest assured that the French post is much
more secure in delivering the mail than most.
