The notes accompanying the ARRL DXCC List are invaluable for
answering questions like these.
1. They are two separate Entities. The "old" OK ended Dec 31 '92,
and two "new"
Entities OK/OL and OM replaced that Jan 1 '93. So you have potentially
three Entities.
2. You're right, this one is trickier! If I read things correctly, and if your
QSO dates fit, you get 3 Entities. The first is "Germany" (all of it, East
and West), DA-DM, good through Sep 16 '73. The second is the German
Democratic Republic (East Germany) DM and Y2-9, good from Sep 17
'73 through
Oct 2 '90. The third is the present Federal Republic of Germany, for QSOs
with DA-DL Sep 17 '73 and after, plus QSOs with Y2-9 Oct 3 '90 and after.
