Lightning can be devastating.I would ground my tower,if you have one,with
an indepentant ground rod at least 10 ft and a peice of # 6 or smaller
solid grounbd wire.Lightning takes shortest path to ground.Try not to
ground everything together.Your equipment should be to a dedicated ground
rod and then your antennas to another.Dont give the lightning a path thru
your radio equipment.
A good ground to earth is your only defense against lightning
strikes.dont waste your time with these power strips that Walmart sells
for computers.They are useless against lightning.I deal with voltage
every day,I know what it can do.Nothing to play with.If you can an
independant ground rod is your best bet.I have about 3 of them on my
equipment.But nothing is fulproof.Might take some trial and error. Good
