When it comes to domestic US contacts, I figure my card is usually as
important as "his" card. Except for the unusual ones, like Montana or
Alaska and a few others, I usually mail my cards as postcards, and hope that
the other fellow will do the same.
Yes, after a contest, that can be a bunch of cards, but if I can afford to
send them out, then I figure most hams, with the new FT-whatevers, and the
stacked beams and so on can afford to send one back. If they can't, tough
on me.
I'm not a DXCC-serious DX'er, so all my cards go via Bureau, and if and when
a card returns by the same route, I'll be delighted. I have sent a few GS
and return envelopes to unusual DX where I really wanted the card. And I
always SASE to special events when I want a certificate.
That's my answer to the problem... works for me, but not for all.
