[Dx-qsl] Euro Stamps

This information may be of interest to those who send DX stamps for
return postage to the countries that have converted to the Euro. The
stamps that are not marked with the Euro value are valid in all these
countries until at least June 30, 2002, while some have extended the
date they may be used. The following is from Bill Plum. This information

Just got info on Euro and national currencies. Here goes:

Aland: Finnish markka stamps valid for postage until June 30, 2002.
AUSTRIA: Schilling only stamps valid for postage until June 30, 2002.
BELGIUM: All stamps denominated in Belg. francs or francs/euros are
valid indefinitely
FINLAND: Markka stamps valid for postage until Dec 31, 2011. Yes, 2011.
FRANCE: including Andorra, Mayotte, St Pierre & Miq. (and caribbean
islands I assume) Franc stamps will remain
valid for an unlimited period.
GERMANY: DM stamps valid until June 30, 2002.
GREECE: national currency valid for postage until Dec 31, 2002, by
themselves, or in combo with drachma/euro, or
euro only stamps.
IRELAND: Punt stamps valid for postage until Dec 31, 2002.
ITALY: & SAN MARINO & VATICAN CITY: All lire stamps remain valid for
postage indefinitely.
LUXEMBOURG: Franc stamps valid for postage until June 30, 2002
MONACO: Franc stamps alone or in combo with euro stamps valid
indefinitely.
NETHERLANDS: Guilder stamps valid indefinitely.
PORTUGAL< AZORES & MADEIRA: National currency only stamps not valid now.

SPAIN: Peseta stamps info not specified, but they can be exchanged for
euro values until June 30, 2002. (Maybe
valid to that date??)
