Hi Mike. Thanks for the quick reply.  Yes I am using these tools from 
that link. I cannot get past a 'time out' message when trying to load 
flashutlb.  If I connect a serial port 9600 n 1 none to the dspx, and do 
a POR, there is no message sent from the DSPx. Also the LED flash is 
wrong.  no flash just one LED on at full brightness.
I was hoping my appeal may have resulted in an offer to loan me, or sell 
me a programmed flash chip, or an offer to put a copy of the monitor 
into my flashchip. Obviously this will not be for free.
I note that lyle Johnson's KK7P website has changed into a finantial 
services site, so I have no easy way of contacting him: unless you know 
differently.
