Relative to Loading the DSP with UHF3_33x:
In my testing of the DSP-10 with XP, along with experience in testing by
KD7TS, it has become apparent that SENDDOLR.EXE is not reliable. This
relates to a bug in the DSP program UHF3.EXE that is failing to respond to
the command "$$$". In principle, that command would catch the DSP program,
no matter what it is doing, and return to the monitor program that is
stored in high memory. Sometimes the SENDDOLR works, other times it
fails. For now, lets try to work around this bug.
To test Roger's UHF3_33X.EXE, it is crucial to get to the DSP monitor so
that EZLD.COM will run properly. To that end:
1- You can tell if the monitor is running by looking at the red light on
the EZ-Kit. It will flash at about 1 flash per second, if it is ready for
EZLD. No flashing indicates the DSP-10 program is still running in the DSP.
2- It should be possible to get to the monitor without SENDDOLR.EXE. This
will result in the 1 PPS flashing light:
2a If you are running from the original EZ-Kit ROM, just hit "Reset" on
the EZ-Kit and the light will flash (along with music).
2b If you are using Version 3.2 (and possibly earlier) of UHF3 in ROM,
hit the "Interrupt" button on the EZKit. This is S2, the button between
the "reset" and the red LED. If for any reason, this doesn't cause the
light to flash, (it has always worked for me) hit "reset" and then "interrupt."
3- Possibly of value in diagnostics, if the monitor finds an error in
reading a command, it will go into a twice rate flash. A double rate flash
is not normal! It means something was in error.
Somehow, before running EZLD, be sure you see the 1PPS flashing red light.
