I'll use the Socratic method and ask questions so you'll dig up some
answers and learn along the way.

Look at it with a text editor and compare it with what you expect Intel
Hex to look like.
> If not how do I deal with that ?
For which purpose do you need it in Intel Hex, and for which purposes do
you need it in Analog Devices loader format?
> Do I need to worry about it ?
See above.
> Do I need to be concerned about overwriting the monitor ?
I would suggest that you take great care to not over-write the monitor.
Details about this are at www.kk7p.com in the section about Flash Util.

Follow Bob's directions for the DSP-10, substituting the file for the
DSPx instead of the file for the EZ Kit Lite, and you'll better
understand it.
Hint: the program runs from RAM, not Flash. The Flash just provides a
quick way to load a file so you don't have to use the serial port, but
you need the serial port conenction anyway to run the DSP-10 application.
