To all the DSP-10 interested people. Long time DSP-10 pioneer just wrote
to let us know what was going on and I am forwarding it so all can be kept
up to date. He also included a Zip file with Great Pictures of his new
location in France. I will be glad to forward them to anyone
interested. Just drop me a note. This was addressed to Bob W7PUA and
myself from Hermann DC9UP

Hello Bob and all others?.Greetings from <Germany and believe me, I am
still alive!
I just have been reading Jimmy`s mail on the DSP-10 reflector and it came
in my mind to give you a status report from over here.
I feel very sorry not giving you and all others of the group a mail for a
long time.

But there is a big private reason for my time out.
In the meantime I moved to place in eastern France, where I can built a
bigger 10 gig EME STN as over here in Germany in the crowded village. My
new call sign is F5VKQ and the DC9UP is only used when I am in Germany.

The place there in France is very good for putting HF and VHF and higher
frequency signals on the air. I am now on a farm far away from everybody in
the middle of nowhere. It has been a monastery before it turned to farm and
I am all by my self on this place, except 100 cows around the farm. Please
see the pictures behind the mail.

This move is still going on and I am now in the stage to setup the
concrete-base for a mast and a new 10 foot dish. My new laboratory is
finished and the 10 gig parts (like the rotor-control and LO and all the
controls needed) inside the shack are ready.

What's left is digging trenches for cables and get the outside mechanicals,
involved with the dish and mast ready. If the weather permits, I maybe will
be ready for testing in the spring time next year.

I build 3 more DSP-10 units in the last year for other Hams and one more
for me.
I like to point out that I did not have any ( any ) problem to get this
units run perfectly.

So I am still very happy with the DSP-10 project and whenever talking to
interested people I try to show the outstanding possibilities of your
development.

Only few people understand what I am talking about, but the once who do,
get excited.
Some people who bought the kit did not finish the project yet and when I
start asking why, I found out that they do not have the technical knowledge
to see the big advantage of your project. Wishful thinking is one thing,
getting a project like this working, is something else.

For instance:
A long time ago I created a paper in German and English languish, telling
the steps in which order I build the DSP-10, just to support the original
very good documentation from you.

But they did not read this stuff carefully before they heated up the
soldering iron!
I always keep on telling that this is not a project for beginners !!!

So, I am and the once around me are happy as happy we can be with the DSP-10.
Again, thank you so much for your effort you put in this project.
Every morning I switch on my DSP-10 and still get excited seeing signals
which are in the noise.!

As soon as I am ready again in France I will get in touch with W7LHL and
W7SZ for moon tests.
Please forward this mail to the once I know and tell them the best
greetings from Germany and many 73.

Bob, if you have new program versions and you think that I can help testing
I would be proud to do so. I wish you all a nice time and 73 from Germany
and France.

de Hermann the German now in France??..
