[DSP-10] Upddate on Mac/Virtual PC Serial Port problem

Hey Mike,

Yes, I had done the Fast PTT mod back in September and it has been
working fine. (It also gets rid of a bug where if you are in CW mode
and hit the mic. button, it would lock into transmit and have to be
rebooted.)

So, first thing I thought when I saw this error was that the Fast PTT
mod had broken, or my configuration file had gotten corrupted. Then,
when just changing to a shorter cable with fewer connectors in the path
made it work just fine again, I started thinking timing problems.

If I was going to work on this anymore, one thing to try would be to
take lines out of the cable, or short them up or down. That's where a
breakout box would be invaluable. I haven't even seen one of those in
ten years and don't think I ever owned one personally. Now that we
appear to be in the USB era, it hardly seems worth the trouble to tool
up for RS-232 debugging anymore.

In theory, we have software access to both ends of this problem. In the
EZLITE kit, the UART is emulated. That being the case, a developer
could make this work, in principle, by adjusting timing parameters,
advances and things in code. In practice, there are several learning
curves between here and there!

Thanks,

Courtney
