Hi

I put this together rather than the DSP10 because its a bit simpler to get
going. There (or at least there were for me) some changes to the TUF1
mixers. I found I needed to bias them slightly to get a reasonable
conversion gain. And as Bob says the dynamic range needs to be improved with
some sort of AGC loop. Also I notice that the dynamic range deteriorates as
the audio falls below about 500hz. I haven't thought that through yet

In another series of experiments I have also changed the osc freq so that I
could use it as a back end for my K2 (picking some RF from the IF strip) And
I have to say that it worked quite well. The 'stereo' effect is quite
striking.

Actually I think the design is rather easy to use as a learning design -
both for DSP and for phasing detectors in general. And that was the reason I
got Lyles kit for the DSPx in the first place. Mind you I think the code
needs to be loaded into the flash memory to make the rig properly
standalone. I am still not very clear how to do this.

Now if only I could get rid of the hum !!. I will have to look for some good
tin boxes when I am browsing round Dayton!
