Dave,

You are being given simplistic and bad advice.  The HARDWARE for both part 
numbers is the same and you can use the software from either on either.  
Also, the old [and better for this purpose] software is a free download from 
the ADI site.  If you can get either part # for a fair price, grab it!  
Collectors' item.
