Your problem reminds me of one I had with an R4A and T4X.
As I recall they were off by about 1kc in transceive so I used them
seperately for the longest time.
When I finally got tired of that, I spent about a weekend checking
the rigs and finally found that the 5mhz crystal in the receiver was
off be about 1kc. I replaced the defective crystal and the setup
worked properly after that.
You might check the frequency of your crystal.
